This is a practical book on home as well as a spiritual book, because Home is where the gospel gets personal.
Nancie’s passion is that this book will inspire the reader to see with fresh eyes the potentially powerful and life-shaping place that home is. In our scary world, we can wonder, “Where is my safe place?” Nancie says, “I am passionate about home because I have seen the lasting power there is in it. Even if we are not given the best home life as a child, we can make life-shaping choices about the home we have now to make it a beautiful and good place. And in doing so, offer a legacy to future generations.”
While this is a practical book, it’s also a spiritual book. Home starts with us, of course. Through making room for the sacred in our home, we learn to make room for the sacred in our own lives.
This book on home addresses these questions:
As a mother of five children, Nancie experienced with her family what it meant to have a place to grow and learn the most important things in life. Home is a place all of us eventually leave; and then look to find again. Home is a living, spiritual place that is reflective of who we are.
The Unexpected Power of Home includes a study guide with discussion questions and additional thoughts to ponder to facilitate a small group study or for personal use.
